Homomorphic Encryption for Secure Data Processing in Cloud Computing
Abstract
Cloud-based data processing often requires sensitive data to be decrypted, exposing it to potential breaches. This paper explores the application of homomorphic encryption (HE) to enable secure data processing in cloud environments without exposing plaintext data. The proposed framework supports both partially and fully homomorphic encryption schemes to perform computations on encrypted data. The study evaluates the framework's performance in terms of computational overhead, scalability, and security. Results show that homomorphic encryption provides strong data privacy guarantees while maintaining acceptable processing efficiency for various cloud-based applications. The paper concludes that HE is a viable solution for ensuring data confidentiality during cloud-based computations.
