AI in Infectious Disease Control: Enhancing Surveillance and Response
Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing a critical role in infectious disease control by enhancing surveillance and response capabilities. This paper explores AI applications in predicting outbreaks, tracking disease spread, and optimizing response strategies. We review case studies from recent epidemics and pandemics, demonstrating AI's ability to analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and support public health decision-making. The paper also discusses the challenges of data integration, real-time analysis, and ethical considerations. Future directions for research and implementation are proposed to strengthen the role of AI in infectious disease control and public health.
